  • The ligature affects the respon-siveness and tone of your reed/mouthpiece set-up. A perfect liga-ture allows the reed to vibrate freely. Inverted ligatures are de-signed with the screws on top of the mouthpiece, opposite the reed. The inverted ligature exerts a more even pressure on the reed and en-ables the reed to vibrate more freely.
